As we near the end of another school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Robert Down parents, staff and supporters of Robert H. Down’s PTA.  If you are visiting our website for the first time, I welcome you to our community and invite you to join our Robert H. Down family.  Robert H. Down PTA succeeds only with the extraordinary efforts and volunteerism that is a tradition at Robert H. Down School.  If you are returning families, I thank you for your help this year and look forward to volunteering next to you next year.  If you are a new or incoming family, I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our Robert H. Down school and our PTA community.

Yearbook Sales on-line end on May 15th. Sales will continue on campus only starting May 21st

California Pizza Kitchen Fundraiser May 16th. School may be winding down, but support continues throughout the year. Come and enjoy a dinner out on the patio!

PTA Board Elections May 21st in the Robert Down Library. Elections take place at the PTA Meeting, come out and get involved.

Spring Book Fair

It’s time for the Spring Book Fair – who doesn’t enjoy a good book!?
The Book Fair is on March 26th and closing on Friday March 30….the teachers will be coming in on Friday March 23rd to pick out their book wish lists. – This years theme “Luau”!!
Hours are Monday thru Thursday 8:15am-9am in the morning  and 3-4pm in the afternoon.
On Friday hours are 8-9am in the morning and because it is a half day 12-1pm in the afternoon.
 Family Reading Night will be from 6:30-8pm on Wednesday night, March 28th with special reading guests and kids will learn the hula!  Fun, Fun, Fun!!!!!

After February 29, the rate goes up to $30 per yearbook. Don’t miss the chance to save some money on this invaluable memory of your child’s year in school! (If you plan to order more than one yearbook, please fill out a separate sheet for each so we can count them in each classroom’s tally.)

Here Come The Monarchs

Butterfly Parade Coming October 1, 2011

It’s that time of year again, where the children of Pacific Grove Celebrate the Fall and Return of the Monarchs to Pacific Grove.  The Annual Butterfly Parade and Bazaar is coming, and we want you to come out and join the fun. The Children of Robert Down and Forest Grove Elementary Schools will be marching in the parade dressed as Otters, Flowers, Bees, Bugs, and of course Butterflies and other assorted creatures and things from Nature. The Parade will start and end in front of the Robert H. Down School. Once the Parade is over Families will enjoy themselves at the Annual Butterfly Bazaar, this is a major source of the monies for the PTA’s and an unforgettable event for the schools and their families. Come out, in your best Monarch Wings, buy a T-Shirt, play some games, eat some great food and see what the bakers from the schools have come up with this year for the bake sale.

Welcome to Robert H. Down School, or for returning families, Welcome Back! Robert H. Down PTA invites you to join us in making a difference in the education and quality of life for our children.  We realize how important your children are to you and that you want the best for them, your PTA wants to help achieve that.  We all know children learn more and have better lives when parents, school staff, students and the community work together. Your PTA works to bring these groups together to share thoughts and ideas about programs and activities that benefit the children of Robert H. Down School.
